Kerry is host to some of the world’s most highly rated links and courses, including Tralee, Ballybunion, Dooks and Waterville, each carved and shaped by the mighty Atlantic Ocean. Just on the outskirts of Killarney is Killarney Golf & Fishing Club, one of Ireland’s most prestigious and historic golf clubs. Located in Killarney National Park, surrounded by Lough Leane, Killarney Golf & Fishing Club is a four time host to the Irish Open and home to two 18-hole championship courses.
5. Cycling

There are many cycling routes to choose from in Killarney National Park. With over 10,000 hectares to explore, there is a route option for all ages and abilities. Ross Castle, Muckross House, Muckross Abbey, Torc Waterfall, the Gap of Dunloe are just some of the fabulous cycle trails that are popular with visitors to the town. 6. Walking
If you’re looking for something a little more leisurely, there are so many walks to choose from in Killarney. With over 26,000 acres to explore in Killarney National Park, you are sure to come across some of the plants, animals, scenery, mountains, lakes, forests and waterfalls which have made Killarney as famous as it is today. If you are after a longer walk, take a stroll along the old Kenmare Road which is 16km long. A beautiful scenic walk is in Tomie’s wood, a 10km loop featuring several waterfalls, the most breathtaking one being O’Sullivan’s Cascade. The Knockreer Circular walk is a simple 5km trail, located just a 5 minute drive from Killarney town and features impressive views of Lough Leane and the MacGillycuddy Reeks.
